W2K Track Stage One Complete

W2K Track Stage One Complete

On Thursday we have "holed through" on W2K! Lots of riders hitting the track for a coffee in Kinloch from Whakaipo Bay and then returning. The distance is about 14Km one way, lake to lake

To check were to start from, look at the map.

Remember its two way and have a friendly attitude to other users !

If you go from Kinloch, park on the lake front and ride up the storm water gully at the end of the bay. When we get the tick off about the final alignment we will build a track up the side of this gully with a board walk bridge at the bottom so you can access the lake front

We have started on the outside loop which is going to be about 10 to 12 Kms and will pug away until it gets too wet then pull out for the winter

The 2 Pete's enjoying a well-earned drink to celebrate the completion of the track

Wairakei

Thanks to all the people who turned up at the Wairakei Thursday Night working bees. It was great to see the support for the tracks and Peter Manning and hear some points of view  on the track system. Big thanks to Peter Manning for getting his A into G and organizing them.

Please let us know what you like or dislike about the tracks its hard to figure out what people like sometimes.
We have got a few bucks together for some new tracks so watch this space!

W2K Progress Report

W2K Progress Report

W2K is now up to the 3.9 kmmark, which is all finished track.

The start of the track is now temporarily closed, awaiting re-alignment. We have moved construction over to Whakaipo Bay to meet the existing from there.

Please don’t park in Boojum Dell - it causes problems with the local residents! - plus there’s no coffee shop.

To get to the Kinloch start:

park at the Kinloch café, take the first left after the round about and follow that road around to Boojum Dell.
The track starts up the little water reserve on your left, but do not park any vehicles in the vicinity of that area!
