TB Vector Control - Wairakei Tourist Park

Epro Ltd is carrying out an aerial and ground based possum and ferret operation in and around the Wairakei Tourist Park.

For the ground component traps and bait stations containing brodifacoum will be set in the area south of Karapiti Road.  This area includes the Buzzard, Walters Wiggles, Corkscrew, Tourist Trap, The Ferret, Bumble Bee and the Fast Eddies tracked areas.

The aerial component using sodium monofluoroacetate (1080) carrot takes in everything laying to the north of Karapiti Road including the Drone, Young Pines and all new northern tracks.  The ground control area is scheduled to start on 31 March 2006 and the aerial on 10 April 2006.

Special Notice For Dog Owners

It is strongly advised that dogs are kept out of the operational area for at least six months after the completion of the operation especially in the aerial 1080 area, if you must take a dog with you into the ground based area than it should be on a leash and be muzzled.

Information boards and maps will be erected at all access points into the operational area a couple of days prior to the operation commencing.

Should you have any queries please contact me at Epro Ltd's Taupo office 07 378 4852 or 027 293 0241.

Yours faithfully
