Bike Taupō Submission on the Taupō District Annual Plan 2014/2015

Bike Taupō is a cycling advocacy group who aim to promote cycling as healthy, environmentally friendly and convenient form of transport and recreation. We work to improve cycling conditions, educate cyclists and other road users and to present in public debate and to relevant authorities the case for cycling. Please take the time to read our submission on the Taupō Annual Plan 2014/2015 which advocates for a safer & improved cycling environment for our community and visitors.

Ian(Spike)Jensen of Bike Taupo presenting Kathy Guy, General Manager,
Wairakei Resort Hotel with a certificate of appreciation for their
support as a partner of Bike Taupo. As well as a monetary contribution they also make
available the use of their land up and around the 9 hole golf course to
build a MTB track which will provide direct public access to Craters MTB
Park from the resort.

Track Crew Update

Thanks to those that emailed and texted in damage. You saved us a heap of time plus got the tracks open faster. Just for the record all the damage has been repaired so if you run into anything please let us know.
This was the damage:
Better than P Young Pines - trees down
Rotary Ride Huka Lodge - down hill tree down then also a slip has been repaired until we get a digger
W2K - Water damage on the W side
Thanks to the locals who rode the tracks and stopped and cleared of branches you are legends.
