Steamfield Working Bee a Great Success

Steamfield Working Bee a Great Success

Good Turnout for the Working Bee Sunday 27th July

An enthusiastic bunch of youthful volunteers met at the Wairakei Resort car park on Sunday to work on the ever expanding Steamfield track. One group completed a section linking the two way access from the western side of the nine hole golf course to the rest of the Steamfield track which runs along the southern side of Wairakei road. This is highlighted as ‘New’ on the map below. The second group completed another section which runs from the hill above the nine hole back down to the two way section.

It is now possible to ride from the resort car park all the way to join the outback track by Stretton’s drop. There is discussion continuing regarding the construction of a shorter loop returning to the two way section between the existing track and the golf course.
