At last we have the Rotary Ride back. Its been a big job to rebuild it because of the big mess. Also a lot of damage happened to the old track so I hope everybody enjoys the new views.
We are going to under take a native tree planting program over the next few years along the track.
Shawn at Quality Print has already put his hand up and will help with some trees. We will start next year that way we can keep the weeds under control. If any body else wants to help with trees etc please sing out.
We have been getting hammered with slips all over the place so if come across one please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can add it to the list to get cleaned up.
The Day Nighter went well with everybody enjoying the tracks. Murray Fleming chips in and helps pays for the maintenance on the Rotary Ride so the event is great for us all round.
Thanks once again to the Marshals who turned up picking up broken riders / bikes/ lights and keeping the track in good nick through-out the day.
For those entering the Huka Race, the tracks are all sorted for the event now with the new Bridge going into Kegresse and also opening up Fast Eddie again.
Been told that entries are coming in remember the event is capped, We have a limit on the number of riders going through the Huka Falls area so don’t miss out, we expect it to fill up because of the relay this year

Rain seems to be the flavor of the month so even we have the odd bit of mud about. Tracks are quieter just the old (and young) harder core riders around
We are busy working on the Rotary Ride cleaning up after the logging and improving some of the bad maintenance spots.
The overall plan is to keep improving the Rotary Ride the best we can easing out the hills and improving the route back to Taupo.
When we can get some funding we want to do a major realignment at the Huka Falls end which will take the bikes off the walking track plus fix the shitty hill on the Eastern Bypass. We expect a lot more people to be doing the Aratiatia track down to the new bridge once the bypass opens.
We are putting in passing bays on the Ground Effect Grinder to allow for the overlap we expect to get on the Huka Race and will also allow for easer passing on the MTB club races
A temporary track has been built for the Day Nighter it pops out onto the end of the little pines on the Rotary Ride. We have also eased out the top of the Gun Club hill to make life easer coming home from Huka falls.
Other changes will be a bridge at the bottom of Q line road for the Huka and opening up Fast Eddie again we are also about to fix the uphill in Bumble Bee after the logging.
Thumbs up to Bruce for looking after things while we were away, and giving the Power Barrow an over due birthday, and the guys and girls turning up to help on events helping Murray and also on the W2K half are very important parts of our funding to keep the system running.
